~Mr. Kerr called the meeting to order at 7:00~p.m.~~
Motion made by Mr.Garvin; seconded by _________ for alternate Judy Read to vote in place of Mr. Diebolt, and alternate Janet Sturges to vote in place of Mr. Russell. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Diebolt subsequently arrived at meeting.
Budget Motions
Police Services: Mr. Woolley and Mr. Garvin presented Police Services budget requests.
Mr. Devoe made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Read, to approve the request of $6,000 for Rogers Lake. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve the request of $231,228 for Resident State Trooper. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve the request of $526,613 for Municipal State Police. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve a recruitment bonus of $1,000: $500 on first day of Old Lyme work, and $500 on 12 month anniversary. Motion carried unanimously.
Other Associations: Mrs. Sturges and Mrs. Read presented budget requests for Other Associations.
Mrs.Sturges made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Read to approve the request of $3,500 for the Old Lyme Historical Society. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, seconded by Mr. Devoe, to approve the request of $4,000 for the Lyme Art Association. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve the request of $250,000 for OLPGN Library. Mrs. Sturges, Mrs. Read, Mr. Woolley voted in favor. Mr. Devoe, Mr. Garvin, Mr. Kerr voted against. Motion failed.
Mr. Woolley made a motion, Seconded by Mrs. Sturges to approve $240,000 for OLPGN Library. Mrs. Read opposed. Motion carried.
Mrs. Read made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve the request of $10,000 for the Florence Griswold Museum. Motion carried unanimously.
Mrs. Read made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Sturges, to approve the request of $10,000 for the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. Motion carried unanimously.
The request for funding for Old Lyme Affordable Housing was deferred to a future meeting.
Mr. Devoe made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Read to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 10:05pm.
